The First Teeth go to Soo-wah-tah, the Gopher

The Middle Mewuk of Tuolumne River say:

When a child sheds its first teeth they should be saved and taken to Soo-wah-tah the Pocket Gopher, and carefully put into his hole. Then the second teeth will come quickly and grow to be strong and good.
