AUTUMN

In Yosemite, when the oaks, maples and dogwoods turn to flaming colors of red, gold, and brown, the Valley is ablaze with autumn color. In such a setting one would scarcely be surprised to come upon legendary Robin Hood and his men, making merry as they did on brown October days in storied Sherwood Forest.

October is nature’s own holiday month, a season of happy adventure for those who love the autumn woods and countryside. Golden Indian Summer days . . . overhead brilliant red and gold foliage; underfoot, a carpet of crisp brown leaves, patterned by the hazy yellow sun; the air pungent with the smell of burning leaves.
