I would say I am more of a spring/summer Yosemite visitor but in the past years I have really grown to appreciate the winter. I have been wanting to go for weeks now to catch Yosemite in full winter mode but where's the snow!?! Is this typical or is looking like a dry winter?

Yes, it's a dry Winter. The Tioga Road has been open more often than not this December, which is unusual.
That said, the snow is often chancy in December. February is the month with the most snow--by then it usually has snowed enough to have a good base at Badger Pass and Glacier Point Road.
